Breaking News!

🎃 Boo! Spooky Season is Here!

Hope you’ve got your Halloween costumes ready, because WIRED is hosting a Halloween Social with other Robotics teams! It’s going to be a great time to hang out, get some free food, meet new people, and show off your creative side.

🌐 Huge Website Update

If you haven't noticed, our site just got a snazzy new update! Big thanks to our PR members, Abhisri and Maddie, for giving it a fresh, snazzy makeover that perfectly captures our team's energy.

📢 Recruitment Posters: Coming Soon to a Hallway Near You

Recruitment posters are on the way! They're bold, they're beautiful, and (shameless plug) they're brought to you lovingly by moi. Keep an eye out for them around campus!

🎨 Vexy Spotlight

The amazing artwork you see here is by our PR team star, Abhisri! She worked tirelessly to make this for us, and it’s simply too good not to share.

👷‍♀️ Mechanical Team: Making Major Progress

The Mechies are absolutely crushing it! We're ahead of schedule, having dismantled one of the old bots and shaping the new drivebase. Things are moving fast and looking great.

💻 Programming Team: Teaching and Creating

Our Proggies are still going strong, learning the fundamentals of programming our bots and brainstorming multiple autonomous strats! Rumor has it, the leads are cooking up something interactive for everyone 👀 — stay tuned!

📅 General Meetings: Growing Ideas

Meetings have been solid, but we’d love to see more faces! We’re diving deeper into the design notebook and coming up with plenty of new ideas for the season. If you’re interested in joining or know someone who might, now’s a perfect time!

🛠️ Workshops: A Strong Start

We hosted our first Workshop/101 Meeting, and it was a big success. Huge thanks to Jazlyn Foster for leading and helping everyone get hands-on with the fundamentals of CAD through SolidWorks!

Resource of the Month

Good news for our Proggies! Check out VEXcode Virtual Robots (VR), a great online simulator created by VEX U Robotics (the official competition folks, not us!).

It’s a fun and easy way to test out autonomous strategies or get comfortable programming bots from home.

While it doesn’t currently support C++, you can still work in Python. And we’re confident our talented Proggies can handle translating between the two languages without a problem ;)
